Day 2: Tanger - Tetouan - Chefchaouen
You have two pathways to arrive at Tetouan and its UNESCO World Heritage Medina: opt for the direct inland route or traverse the Cape Malabata road skirting the coastline towards Ceuta. This scenic route treats you to breathtaking panoramas of the Strait of Gibraltar and the Rif Mountains cascading into the cerulean expanse of the Mediterranean Sea (an additional 40 km journey).
As the road winds its way up into the Rif mountains, it unveils the picturesque countryside before unveiling the captivating blue-hued city of Chefchaouen.
Day 3: Chefchaouen – Meknes – Volubilis - Fes
In the morning, leisurely stroll through the indigo blue lanes of this picturesque city nestled in the Rif Mountains before embarking on the journey towards Fez. Our route takes us through the captivating landscapes en route to Meknes, the third imperial city of Morocco, boasting 40 kilometers of fortified walls. In Meknes, we’ll immerse ourselves in the city’s rich history, visiting its iconic landmarks including the majestic Bab El Mansour gate, the historic Bab Lakhmiss gate, the royal stables, and the grand Moulay Ismail mausoleum.
After exploring the splendors of Meknes, our journey continues to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, where the echoes of antiquity whisper through time. Wander through this remarkable archaeological site, marveling at the remnants of a bygone era, before proceeding to Fez for another night of enchantment and discovery.
Day 4: Fes Guided City Tour
The entirety of the day is devoted to exploring the wonders of Fez, with its medieval medina and labyrinthine alleys, its magnificent palaces and madrassas, and its vibrant, multicolored souks.
